    The contemporary city is a succession of disparate enclaves, commercial centres and amusement parks. The public character of the public domain is deteriorating rapidly.     Last October it was the turn of the Jon Jerde Partnership to spark a discussion about ‘power and architecture’ at the Berlage Institute.
