The buil­ding was es­ta­blis­hed to the proof of re­la­ti­vity theory on be­half of the Ein­stein do­na­tion for spectrum-analysis re­se­arch, in par­ti­cu­lar, and taken 1924 in en­t­er­prise. The Coelos­tat in the dome re­flects the jets of cosmic sour­ces of light by the tower per­pen­di­cu­larly into the un­der­ground la­bo­ra­tory. Here it led around 45° of bent mir­rors to the in­stru­ments for pro­duc­tion and com­pa­ra­tive mea­su­re­ment of the spec­tra. The exe­cu­tion of the tower was ori­gi­nally in rein­forced con­crete in­ten­ded, taken place then howe­ver in brick­work.
