Scottish architect and interior designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh's architectural masterpiece, the Glasgow School of Art (completed in 1909), is an important example of the Art Nouveau style. The building's Art Nouveau features include its wrought-iron gates and an entrance resembling a castle. The exterior walls of the school's rooms comprise large windows that provide light for the art studios and for the two-story library within.
