Living Tomorrow

»Living Tomorrow« is a built vi­sion for the house and of­fice of the fu­ture. The Ams­ter­dam ar­chi­tec­tu­ral firm UN Stu­dio de­si­gned this eye-catching buil­ding.
In the house and of­fice of the fu­ture com­pa­nies can have their la­test pro­ducts tested by vi­si­tors. The con­su­mer is shown quite rea­lis­ti­cally how we will live and work in the fu­ture. Li­ving To­mor­row will, among other things, fea­ture in­tel­li­gent cli­mate con­trol, a kit­chen with an au­to­ma­tic waste se­pa­ra­tion sys­tem and a sys­tem for re-using rain water.
The buil­ding is made up of two tubes. The 50-meter-long ho­ri­zon­tal tube has a ver­ti­cal tube at its end. If you use your ima­gi­na­tion, the two buil­dings re­sem­ble a boot. The ver­ti­cal »leg« hou­ses the of­fice of the fu­ture with a mee­ting room with high-tech gad­gets and com­mu­ni­ca­tion equip­ment. The kit­chen and li­ving quar­ters of the fu­ture are lo­ca­ted in the ho­ri­zon­tal »foot« of the boot, as are the au­di­to­rium and the event hall.
The Dutch Dom­melsch brand of beer de­ve­l­o­ped the Cafe of the Fu­ture. The cafe is a part of the Li­ving To­mor­row con­cept. The cafe is like a cha­me­leon which as­su­mes se­veral ap­pearan­ces. Du­ring the cof­fee con­cept the focus is on lu­xury. The next stage is lunch, du­ring which you may put to­ge­ther your own menu. In the af­ter­noons the em­pha­sis is on mee­tings and en­joy­ing a drink. At night­fall the cafe is tur­ned into a re­stau­rant. After din­ner you can enjoy a dance. The in­ter­ac­tive screens allow you to talk to one ano­ther via the mo­ni­tors.
