This was the first of the church de­signs (plans were also made for the ci­ties of Te­mes­vár, Ko­lozs­vár, Var­gyas, Na­gy­várad, Sep­sis­zent­györgy) to be built in Tran­syl­va­nia fol­lo­wing the fall of the Iron Cur­tain. The goal was to ex­pand the congregation’s old church, which had be­come too small. Only a plan con­sis­ting of the con­struc­tion of a new church be­side the old was al­lo­wed. The main mo­tifs seen in this plan are a tower co­pied from the old tombs­to­nes em­bed­ded in the wall sur­roun­ding the church and four angel sta­tues that fol­low the mass by pee­ring through the sky­light.
