Schiphol Airport Extension (Schiphol Plaza)

With the opening of the Schip­hol of Plaza buil­ding all pe­de­strian stream could be com­bi­ned for the first time into and by the in­di­vi­dual ter­mi­nals of the air­port under a roof. In order to sum­ma­rize the new func­tion of ter­mi­nal buil­ding and sta­tion, one re­mo­ved the place-flanking fronts for that ar­ri­val re­soun­ding and span­ned the in­ter­me­diate sur­face with an enor­mous roof struc­ture, de­ve­l­o­ped again. The con­nec­ting light and air ports bet­ween take­off and ar­ri­val level create a na­tu­rally ex­po­sed pas­sage in the un­der­ly­ing pro­jec­tile to both sides of the Plaza.
