Charles Eames was born 1907 in Saint Louis (Missouri) and died there in the year 1978. It studied from 1925 to 1928 architecture to the Washington University and worked afterwards in different architect's offices. it opened its first own studio to 1930. 1938 made for it possible Eliel Saarinen a scholarship to the renowned Cranbrook Academy of art. 1940 won Charles Eames as well as Eero Saarinen the first price with the competition museum of the of decaying kind in New York “Organic Design in Home”. 1941 he married Ray emperor, who was born in the year 1912 in Sacramento (California) and 1988 in Saint Louis deceased. Ray Eames was a highly gifted artist and the two supplemental itself on the most beautiful. This expresses itself in the productivity of the pair, international admittingness attained it with its furniture drafts, like the famous “Lounge Chair”, but worked it also within the ranges photography, film, exhibition organization and graphics. To 1943 Charles and Ray Eames with stretchers and splints from deformed laminated wood were occupied. 1946 could realize it an exhibition over the laminated wood deformation in the museum of decaying kind. 1949 were built the “Case Study” - for house number 8. Starting from approximately 1955 Charles and Ray Eames unfolded also an extensive activity within the photographic and cinematic range. 1964 received it the honour doctor title of the Pratt of institutes in New York.
