Richard Gustav Schmid

Schmid was edu­ca­ted at the Mas­sa­chu­setts In­sti­tute of Tech­no­logy and in Eu­rope. He star­ted prac­ticing in Bos­ton and later hea­ded a com­pany be­a­ring his name in Chi­cago. He spe­cia­li­zed in de­si­gning Ma­so­nic temp­les and in­dus­trial buil­dings. Among the many Ma­so­nic temp­les of his crea­tion are the Me­di­nah Temple, Chi­cago, and those in Keno­sha, Wis­con­sin; Al­len­town, Penn­syl­va­nia; and Eliz­a­beth, New Jer­sey.
