International Architecture Database

This database for international architecture, originally emerging from records of interesting building projects from architecture students, has meanwhile become the largest online-database about worldwide architects and buildings from past to present.
This database includes information over more than 27000 built and unrealized projects from various architects and planners. The architecture of the 20th century is the main theme of this database.
It's possible to look for a special project via an architect, town or keyword with the indices or by using a query form. For most entries you get the name, address, keywords and information about further literature. Some entries include images, comments, links to other Websites or internal links.

Download one of these Apps at the Android Market or with iTunes right now, select archINFORM as »Channel« (Junaio), »Layer« (Layar) or »World« (Wikitude) and enjoy an Architecture Enriched Reality.

Junaio, Layar and Wikitude are a new kind of browsers for smart­phones. A real­time camera view is over­layed by related meta infor­mation. This data is re­quested on­line from different inter­net sources. archINFORM is one of them!
By holding the phone in front of you like a normal camera, you can see now not only building re­lated in­for­mation on top of reality, but also the nearest archi­tecture offices. And in the next weeks, it will even be possible to display the actual archi­tectural events around you on your smart­phone's screen.
For this complex functionality the sup­ported devices not only need to have a camera, GPS sensor and inter­net connectivity, further­more a compass and an accelero­meter are necessary. For this reason most older smart­phones (including iPhone 2G/3G) are incompatible. Junaio and Layar is available for Android devices and the iPhone 3GS. Wikitude additionally offers a ver­sion for some Symbian driven devices (Nokia N97, ...) at OVI store. Further­more Wikitude is compatible with the older iPhone 3G (with re­duced AR functionality).

Special features of the Layar version:
You can display a perspective map in AR view within our layer Architecture 3D. Furthermore it's possible to display surrounding buildings in 3D.
